Eaves Wind Tunnel

fair enough, im experienced i guess but ive never seen a 10" cav before. is it an unusual or very old property?
was the outer brick skin the original wall and some time later an inner block skin was built?
in the last photo ther seems to be something, some material, in the cavity an a brick returnin across the cavity?

even in a bungalowthe cavity needs sealing off its a smoke/fire risk. are ther air bricks allowin air into the cavity?

did you only want CWI in the extension or in the main house as well?

Yes it's a very old property and yes one of the walls was added later to create the cavity.

I wanted CWI in the whole house. Some of the walls have normal cavities and some have the 10'' ones. He declined to do the normal ones, he said it's only economical for him to do a job if he can do more than 80% of the walls.

i would seal everything at the eaves and cavity an take care of the other stuff i mentioned.
youl probly find youve enough ventilation without addin vents here an ther.
seal it an see what happens.

The ventilation should be on the outside of the insulation, as long as you have a gap between the underside of the bitumen based felt and the outer side of the insulation then the all you need to do
is fill the smaller gap between the wall plate and the existing insulation. The house and even the cupboards are then insulated
No need to mess with cavities which are currently working in your favour
