I've been looking to be able to monitor and add extra controls to my Vaillant boiler and existing VRC 470f for some time. This thread, has prompted me to try to make a start - https://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/...r-lower-with-an-ebus-smart-controller.609060/

I'm still very much trying to make sense of what might be involved in the project, but it seems to be a matter of an EBUSD adaptor - there are several varieties, to tap into the data on the Vaillant EBUS. I'm looking to build this one - https://adapter-ebusd-eu.translate.goog/v2/?_x_tr_sl=auto&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en

That can then plug into a WEMOS D1 which can use WIFI to exchange data via your LAN. Once on the the LAN, there are several options for dealing with the data... Such as Home Assistant, RPi, or using a phone.

Hi Harry, can you get hold of those boards? Last time I checked on john30's discussion group they weren't available but I may be wrong.

The advantage of the ebuzzz adapter I built is that there are no adjustments and it works perfectly with Vaillant boilers. The disadvantage is you have to be comfortable building with surface mount components.

SpecialK had a pair of spare PCB's, and I have offered to buy those from him. That one uses all standard 0.1 components, so should be easier to build. I have built with smd, but I wouldn't say I'm entirely comfortable with it.

Ah that's good then. I hope the build goes well.

Glad I came across this thread. I am looking to go with either a Intergas or Vaillant boiler and based on support the latter is becoming my preferred choice.

Do you know if its possible once we have the data from the eBus connect this the board to a OpenTherm controller, like Tado, EPH or Netatmo?
