hi got a problem with our Ecoflam burner in a stanley stove. It won't fire up normally but if I turn the thermostat knob of and on quickly a few times during purging it wil go. Replaced electrodes and leads, nozzle and solonoid coil so far. Any one any ideas on what else to try.
Cheers.

The action of switching on and off during purging suggests that the burner may be overaired. Which Stanley do you have? is this one of a twin burner set up or a single upfiring burner?

Changing nozzles without checking the oil pressure or combustion analysis is a little risky isn't it?

Thanks Oilhead, its the single upfiring Stanley about 15 years old.

Thanks Agile, yeah we did check the pressure and gas analysis against the manual. It fired up the first time but not since without fiddling with it.

Have you checked the fuel supply? Blocked filters can give you the same symptom. Switching the burner on and off prolongs the prepurge and can allowthe pump to prime itself.

Thanks I'll check the filter tomorrow. Primed the pump yesterday and its flowing well there. Could it be the ignition transformer?
