Hello,
I have just moved into a rented house and the boiler does not seem to be producing any hot water, I moved in on Friday and switched the HorstMann Electronic 7 to the timed position, over night the light seemed to come on to suggest the water was being heated, and if I press the boost button the light comes on (picture below)

However no hot water is being produced, im not sure if I have missed another switch somewhere or if something else is wrong? Could use some opions before I contact the landlord tomorrow.

Thank you

Hello Zack
Cannot see any pictures!
You can just drag the jpg from your computer library onto the reply panel or go to media and add pictures there, Or put them on Photobucket etc and copy the IMG URL across.

Could it be that there is a problem with the Night-time Lower Element??
Have you checked that the night-time element is not connected to a fuse-connection unit inside the cylinder cupboard itself?

They should be attached to this post

Zac. I guess that you only have one element in the tank, or are there two.?

Do you have any electrical test equipment, at all? A Multimeter is required!

I believe its just the one element? and unfortunately I don't have any test equipment, I did have a multimeter but im not sure where it is after the move....

For once, I agree with Winston. The landlord should be doing this.

However, it looks like you only have one immersion (at the bottom of the tank).
If the cable from there goes directly into the Horstmann unit then it could be
the timer unit itself
The immersion element
the immersion's thermostat
or a broken/burnt out bit of wiring.

there's a light on the boost so at least we know there is power going into the Horstmann .

Cant be more help that that..

PS, I see the securing nut to the immersion cover is missing, so somebody may have been in there……………
