What sort of electrical fitting is this

Hi - recently moved into this place and there was a long chandelier hanging from this point, looking to put something similar in but not sure if this is a standard light fitting or I will have to get some adapter - can anyone shed some light!?

That's just the old cable terminated in some choc block. The new light fitting will probably come with its own terminal block, and you can then transfer the wire accordingly.

When hanging the new fitting, if it's heavy, make sure you attach to the wooden part of the box and not into the plaster only.
