Economy 7 Replacing immersion heater

Hello

I have economy 7 boiler with two immersion heaters, one of them is broken and I would like to replace it.
Now What size of immersion heater do I need for 450mm diameter and made from which material, and can I install it my self.
Any do's and don'ts

Yes you can replace it yourself.
Drain the tank down and remove.
You'll need the same size as your existing one. Easily available at any plumbers merchant.

If you're in a hard water area, make sure you get the correct element.

Is it a vented system with a cold water header tank, or an unvented one ('megaflo' is one brand name)?

If unvented then these are supposed to be worked on by qualified person only, as setting and testing the thermostat and overheat stats are a vital part of testing.
