We have a new 2000W electric fire with 1mm 3 core and 13A plug on end. The flex is not long enough to reach the FCU for the fire. Bought an additional 1m of 3 core 1mm flex to connect to the FCU, but what should I do to connect them? I was thinking a trailing socket, and just plug it in? Or should I cut off the plug and use a Junction Box / Choc Block (accessible behind the surround) and connect directly to FCU.
