I've just bought an electric induction hob. Although i'm ok with putting in the odd socket etc I've never put anything like this in.

In the brochure it has a rated load of 7.4kW and fuse rating30A. In the installation instructions it recommends a 30mA RCD,

I've currently go a gas hob and electric oven running thro' the usual 45A cooker switch into a 32AMCB on the cu. :?

Should this think have it's own supply on it's own MCB, If so what rating / what size cable/ isolators etc etc???

What rating is the current oven? You might not need to run a new radial if the oven is of a low enough rating that it can be connected via a standard plug. in this case you could just fit a plug and use the cooker switch to connect the hob.

If not then it will most probably require another radial circuit. What size cable is currently used from the CU to the cooker switch? How long will the cable run from the CU to the cooker be? Will the cable run go through any insulation/high ambient temperatures? Does the cooker switch have an integrated socket point?

7400w / 230v = 32.3A

Diversified load:

10A + 7A + 5A = 22A with socket
10A + 7A = 17A without a socket

This work is notifiable to your BCO.
