Hello, my new'ish electric shower has a great flow when cool/cold but slows significantly when turned to nice and hot. Is this normal and can this be improved at all?
Thank you

Not really. You could check the manual to ensure it is performing as it should. It should give a flow rate for a specific temperature.

That's the way electric showers work.

What is your other source of hot water?

Generally, electric showers have 1 or 2 settings, each of which puts the same amount of energy into the water as heat, when you turn the dial you are only allowing more or less water to flow past the heating element, not changing the heat output.

Water is colder at this time of year, should improve as outside ground temperature rises. Only way to improve heat for given flow is to uprate the shower say from 7 to 10 kw. But you might already have done that.

Blup

If the cable can take the upgrade that is or you need new cable.

Sorry for the delay and thank you for the advice.

It's a 9.5kw shower and it sounds like it's working as should be then.

Re other source of hot water - it's a bath fed by a combi.

Thanks again
