I am installing an electric shower. I have no spare room on my consumer unit. Can anyone tell me if it is possible to connect it to the same fuse as i use for the cooker or must it have its own seperate fuse. Thank you

It needs a separate way. If one doesn't exist then you'll need a consumer unit upgrade or a one way CU installing with RCD protection.
This work is also notifiable to LABC under Part P of the Building Regulations.

MIR: She wanted to wire the shower to the same fuseway as the cooker. This is a no-no.

However, even if it were acceptable, the cooker cable size would have no bearing on the matter.

Did you think she wanted to use the existing cooker cable to feed the shower?
