We have installed an electric shower 9.8KW Mira Azora which on the installation instructions states should have a 45A fuse. Our fuse box is Control Gear Direct and they only make 40A RCBO as a max. Is this sufficient and if not does anyone know of a compatible manufacturer. This will be installed by a qualified electrician but the last one charged us an extra £15 for the RCBO so have decided to purchase it ourselves!!

Thanks for the help!

Do you think they grow on trees? Typical prices:

MCB: £3-5
RCBO: £20-30

I think he's justified.

By the way, CGD is really ****, im not surprised they dont make a 45A one.

Try a 45A MCB and a seperate RCD enclosure. Does your existing CU not have RCD protection that the shower could use?

Can your supply cable be adequately protected by the uprated breaker? (if it's 6mm, it won't) Your electrician should be able to advise on the best solution.
