Good evening All.

I don't visit this section of the forum often as plumbing is not my DIY forte!

I have a problem with a Gainsborough Energy 1000x electric shower - the flow is quite poor with the valve set to fully cold & when turned towards hot, the "reduce temp" light comes on. Fully cold is at about 1 o'clock & this occurs at about 7 o'clock on the dial (clockwise).

Water pressure to the house is good, I have checked the hose, head, local isolator & the inlet filter for blockages - all ok, however, I took the flow regulator out & when I blow into the inlet side & turn the valve, the airflow is completely blocked at just over half way round.

This isn't right is it!?

The valve is £40+ to replace & I consider this uneconomical to repair.

Thanks in advance for any help offered.

Prob a faulty flow control valve. You could remove it and check it yourself. But to be honest gainsborough are cheep showers in the first place, i would just put a new shower in. Look on showerdoc.com and they will suggest the best replacement for it
