Hi all

Just a little advice needed please.

I am in the process of doing up my bathroom. I have had all the electrics done including wiring for an electric towel rail (I'm still in the process of deciding what I want).

Currently there is a switched FCU outside the bathroom extending to a blank plate in the bathroom approx where I want the towel rail to be. Inside the plate is just a block connector where I connect the flex of the towel rail.

Now the thing is, all this wiring has been done by an NCIECI spark and I believe he's contacted the relevant bodies. However would they need to be notified again for hooking up the towel rail to the block connector.

Likewise, when I connect a shaver socket to already notified spur? Surely I don't need another spark to come out, its just a case of screwing the wires into the pre-existing ones. All circuits protected and recorded.

Strictly speaking yes.

But if you already had a towel rail installed, and you replaced it, you wouldn't need to notify, so you need to ask yourself how likely it is that anybody would ever know.

Again yes, this is notifiable.

And again if you were replacing an old shaver socket it would not be.

Go figure
