Hi
We've got a heat mat mesh underfloor heating and today noticed it's not getting warm. Normally you can feel floor is warm. Digital thermostat is working and heat is set correctly and shows as heating... but not warming. Room heat shows lower than the set temp. Any ideas on likely cause? Nothing has moved/changed in the setup since yesterday when it was working.
thanks

Thanks for the replies chaps. There are no mats or rugs - just the floor and it's just not getting warm like it did yesterday. I might try and replace the thermostat and see what that brings!

is this a newish floor you are getting used to or an old system that worked fine yesterday and now not working propperly ??

It's been running for a few years now. Wife seemed to think it went very hot the other day and then not been the same since.
I've replaced the thermostat but still no life!

Guess you will have to measure the resistance of the mat if you are happy with working on electrics.

Switch the power to the controller off. Open the control box, disconnect the feeds to the mat and measure the resistance across the 2 wires.

Hopefully you will have the installation details from when the heating was installed; if not and you don't know who the manufacturer was/is post the details on here and someone may be able to help or advise.

We need to know the Square Meterage.

Hi there, I've got the exact same issue, shows that its heating but never seems to heat up. Our's has been running fine for years up until a few days ago. Did you solve your issue and if so, how?

It may have developed a short to ground somewhere and blown the fuse? If it did actually get extra warm and then stop.
The usual insulation in wire heaters is magnesium oxide, it is slightly hygroscopic, so eventually makes itself damp, and rcd's object to that at the very least.
