Electrical trunking new earthing to flat upstairs (conversion)

Hi

I live in a one bed 1930's conversion, the flat upstairs is rented. The landlord has to put new earthing to the flat upstairs and has said they will attempt do it from under the stairs (where my fuse box is situated)
They have said if not they may have to do it through my kitchen and add trunking. I am very accomodating to the landlord upstairs, but there is no way I am having ugly trunking in my kitchen
Can any one advise?

Tell him it has to be hidden and that you won't allow trunking. Is it your flat downstairs?

yes downstairs is my flat and the picture shows above the fridge where they want to put the trunking

Just explain you are happy to help but don't want any trunking showing.

Is that a reasonable request or does he have the right to insist on a particular install method

Where is his supply fuse and meter etc.. Can't he put it outside

Yes he has every right to do that or even refuse permission for it to be in his property at all

For me, the main house and flat are both mine. And I have repeatedly told the council that there is no way I can rent the flat, as they share water, electric and the heating system.

Every so often they try to claim double council tax if I don't rent it out, as which I say OK I will live in flat, and my wife will live in the house, which means a reduction in council tax, and will be sighting them in the divorce proceedings as they are forcing us to live apart, and all of a sudden they say we can carry on as we are.

What I wonder in your case, is why it now needs a new earth? And also why it can't be run outside the building? Something is missing in the tail.

Yes. He doesn't have to let anyone into his flat if he doesn't want to.
