My dishwasher has been working perfectly although I stopped using it for approx 7 months as I was away. Now no water seems to be entering the machine and the machine seems keen to work. What do I need to check. It would seem to me that the water inlet valve has stuck? If so what should I do?

Did you turn the water off on the valve below the sink?
If so make sure the plastic lever isnt twisting on the shaft of the valve (in other words you think the waters on but it isnt).
Failing that it is most likely the solenoid in the machine gone.
