We have what we thought was a marble fire surround made by Elgin and Hall. We have recently had the room replastered and the fire surround was protected with sheets and masking tape. When the tape was taken off, it has pulled the paint off the surround - it was not marble, but a hand-painted resin. Elgin and Hall no longer exist - a different company bought their name, but can't help me find someone to re-paint the damaged areas. It is like a stone flecked finish. I have phoned lots of fireplace surround suppliers and they all say, "yes, we know all about this happening, lots of people have the same problem, but we don't know who can help you."
Any suggestions on who we can get to repair it?
(Claiming on insurance is an option, but that does't get it repaired)
