Elson Coral E Thermal Store Descaling Required

Hi
Can anyone give me some advice please. I think have a scale issue with my electric boiler. The symptoms are the water in the shower/taps runs hot initially then runs luke warm after a short while. If you switch off the shower/taps briefly the water then runs hot again when shower/taps switched on again. I have changed the blending valve however this had no effect. Am i right in assuming then this is a heat exchanger descale issue? secondly roughly how much would it cost to descale the boiler? thirdly can anyone recommend a reputable/reliable descale company to do this job. I am based in the central london area near Maida Vale i.e. NW8.

It can be a little difficult to diagnose faults on the internet when we have no technical information.

Descaling can be quite involved and messy!

The best chemicals are acidic and risk damaging the system.

Cost perhaps £100-£500 depending on exactly what is required! Trouble is that its not possible to determine whats needed without visiting!

Sorry, I should have chosen other words to describe that there can be several causes of your problem and probably a combination of them.

That's why its not possible to just say it will cost £xxx unless it was just the highest figure that it would ever be likely to be.

And where does replacing ( assuming its available ) any part which gets holed during the descaling?

Because its messy, time consuming and parts can become holed many would just say replace it with a new one!

i doubt its scaled up, have you checked the temperature of the thermal store?
