I am pricing a job to install EL in a sports hall with about 10 lighting circuits, the ELs are going to be wall mounted flood light type. To ensure that they activate even during a partial failure I am planning to use a bank of relays, and supply the ELs via the NO contacts in series, am I overthinking this?

Your thoughts please

Are these self-contained lamps each with a battery?

I think the answer is in the question, the likelihood of several of the circuits tripping is remote, so there will be enough light to evacuate, only complete failure would need emergency lights so I could pick any circuit for my control, no need for relays
