Emulsion over glitter impregnated product!!

The interior wall of childs bedroom has glitter on the wall - which we want to emulsion over. Apparantly- the glitter was in a gel like substance and rollered onto wall. Any suggestions for a trouble free job! should I rub down and prime/seal with something first?

Might be better to rub down and fill where neccesary and then apply a coat of white oil based undercoat. This should seal any glitter particles enough to be emulsion painted over.
