Emulsion over Zinsser BIN

Hi ... I used Zinsser B-I-N White Multi-surface Matt Primer, to cover slime damp patches. Now when I paint over this (3x coats ) with emulsion you can still make out where I’ve used it. This is especially so when light hits it, as if it’s still a more shiny surface. How do I stop this ???

What emulsion did you use?

It sounds like the paint you've used has poor opacity

1. Emulsion used was B&Q Walls and Ceilings Matt White
2. What do you mean by Opacity? I’m a keen novice

Opacity is the paints ability to cover the previous paint

An own brand paint won't have very good opacity I'm afraid , you need to splash the cash and buy a decent trade Matt white

I have found that emulsion applied over oil-based paint patches takes about a week to blend in nicely.
