Energy bill to double from next month

I got an email from British Gas yesterday evening, to suggest that my supplier for gas and electric, Bristol Energy has stopped trading as of the 23rd Jan 
When I saw the email at first I thought it was some sort of phishing attempt, as BG would have no call to be emailing me, but no - it simply said they were picking me up as one of the failed BE customers. I wonder what happens next?
I emailed BE a couple of weeks ago enquiring about a couple things and got no reply, plus the app seemed not to accept meter readings or ignored them when entered the last couple of Sundays, so I might have known something was happening.
