My Mk3 1.1 CFI fiesta has struggled twice on the MOT on high emissions, Wondered if there is any resonably priced diagnostic testers on the maket,although cant seem to see where one would plug in anyway. Many thanks.

The car is K reg April 1993

The car would be too old to support the standard ODB2 diagnostic port so you would have to look for a tester specific for ford cars around that age.

Here's a tip that may help you.....
Replace the spark plugs and air filter. Find a stockist of Forte fuel treatment for petrol engines, and pour it into half a tank of fuel - use the car so it gets through the system.
Present the car for the MOT when the exhaust system is blistering hot - this will give you every chance of passing.
