Hi all,
Long time lurker, first time poster here.
Need some advice please. We recently had around 45mm of CemFloor screed put down on Wet UFH.
We then went away for a week and when we came back we saw that the engineered wood had already been put down with a thin perforated underlay with built in vapour barrier. Apparently it went down 1 week after the screed had been laid down.
Now I know it wasnt meant to be put down for at least 40 days and after a moisture test, but we are where we are.
The contractor is a good one who we have used before and he fully accepts this was a mis-communication.
Its now been a month or so since the original screed was put down - the UFH has been on and running for at least a week.
Now I am here weighing up my options.
1) Leave it, do nothing - what are the potential consequences here?
2) Take the flooring up now and likely render it unusable, let the screed dry and then put it back down.
The contractor has said he doesnt think it will ultimately matter as its summer, the moisture will escape somehow - but failing that if anything does come of it further down the line, hes happy to deal with it then. As I said, weve used these guys for over 10 years on various large projects and they are good for their word.
Would really appreciate suggestions.
Thank you.
