Hi,
I'm about to lay engineered wood in a conservatory. I've removed the existing solid wood flooring and found that it was resting directly on joists. The old wooden flooring also had what appears to be a DPM under it.
As my new engineered wood is relatively thin (13mm), my plan is to first build a layer of plywood, attached with screws to the joists, then lay my engineered wood flooring floating on top.
Some questions: I have purchased a DPM, and have a wooden flooring underlay that I was recommended to use for laying the engineered wood on concrete - this is meant to improve sound proofing and comfort, and includes a vapor barrier.
Do I first lay the DPM, then the plywood screwed to the joists, then the underlay and finally my engineered wooden flooring? Or is there a better order in which to do this?
Many thanks,
Eric
