Hi all,

I am building a detached garage at the end of my garden, and have just reached dpc level with class B engineering bricks. Looking around at the prices and type of facing bricks around, I am strongly inclined to keep going up with the engineering bricks. The look a consistent colour, and are only a bit heavier than regular facing bricks.

Are there any disadvantages of doing this? Am I going to regret looking out of my kitchen window at a garage made of engineering bricks?

Thanks all,

The only disadvantage I know is if they are the shiny waterproof type bricks they don't absorb the water so if you're a fast bricky, by the time you've put down half a dozen coarses the ones at the bottom are still swimming, if however you're in my catergory and pretty slow it's not a problem.

Haha yes I am pretty slow - I'm only likely to manage 3 or 4 courses a day so I don't think it'll be a problem! Thanks!
