I take a fruit scone (rhymes with gone) butter it with salted butter. Then put raspberry jam (shock horror!), then clotted cream.

I do the two halves separately.

BTW, I say Shrewsbury to rhyme with throw too.
 

It's where people in the south say bath with a long "a" and trap with a short "a". Whereas people in the north say both with a short "a".

I didn't know whether scone etc. split along the same lines.

I think the jam overpowers the vine fruits, rather than complementing them.
