Entry door threshold/riser

Hi,

I recently restored the wood floorboards in my flat. This has left the area between where the floorboards begin and the entrance in rather unappealing condition - you can see the cement.

What would you recommend that I install to cover the area? I look at some carpet/door risers but I do not think I can get them in without trimming the door.

Chip it out, screed it level and put a nice piece of timber in it.
