I would be interested to know what the pro. decorators think of the new environmental paints which we are being forced to use later this year. Today I opened a new can of Dulux Trade High Gloss and it was like cat's p**. I returned it and was told that they now had to use the new base formula, they mixed a new can and whilst this was acceptable it was still about half the density of the previous formula and struggled to cover the recommended undercoat with one coat.

It shouldn't make any difference to the opacity as the bit they are bothered about evaporates. Not tried any yet though.

Its not as good as the old stuff, but in saying that it will cover alright just takes a little more time making sure you get an even coat and laying it off.

What colour was it? Some colours have a * or the words 'USE EXTRA COATS'.
Signal red, willow fgreen , capricorn and lot of the zingy yellows need two coats of topcoat over unders.. Pain..
