EPDM is synthetic rubber developed by firestone who makes tyres. EPDM is used for ponds, and flat roofs, double glazing units to seal the doors/windows to name but a few it should last years. The item should be okay

Fine provided you have even gaps around windows and doors which are between 3-5mm, if the gaps are uneven it will push out where tight and defeat the object of installing draft excluder.
