Just wondering why EPDM isn't recommended for pitched roofs? I'm thinking of using it on outbuilding roofs which otherwise would be done with felt.

The only potential issue that comes to mind is wind suction, which can occur on pitched roofs. You need to consult the manufacturers guides for the particular system though

Interesting stuff - thanks. So is the only reason its not used on houses just aesthetics then? Or is there a building regs issue too?

The reason for using slate on roofs is that it can and does last centuries.

And on flat roofs as well where there is a perimeter obstacle. Its why original felt roofs were 'frame' bonded.
