Hi all,
We're looking at buying a new house but we want to somewhat close off the upstairs area (namely for sound reasons), which has about a 12 foot railing overlooking the living room area. Our current thought is to knock that railing out and replace it with glass, kind of like this image here:
Does anyone just have a broad idea of what doing that wall there in glass would cost? We're not even sure a general estimate, whether it's $1,000, $5,000, or $10,000. We'll eventually bring someone out for an officially estimate, but we're really just trying to get an idea right now.
And if the glass is super expensive or not optimal, does anyone have any better ideas on closing that space off? We've seen some with shutters or some where they just added onto the half wall (we can pick half wall vs railing), but we're open to any ideas on how to make this look best. Kind of like this:
