sorry if this isn't the right forum, but it seems like the best place to put it.

Basically the key to the euro cylinder has snapped off in the locked position, what, if any is the best way to remove the cylinder, sadly it won't just slip out.

It's been a while since I changed one but I'm sure they are held in from the door edge side. ie you'll need the door ajar.

Try unlocking the door using the broken key. Hopefully the bit that's broken in the lock plus the bit that's still on your keyring together will unlock it.

yeah, its all unscrewed, but the lever thing on the lock is still engaged with the doodah, i have a feeling i don't know what i'm talking about here. if i cant unlock it, is there anyway remove it apart from a very big hammer.

Any chance that the broken off key is holding all the tumblers in place? If so, you may be able to push or pull the lever thingy (and turn the barrel at the same time) so that it clears the doodah and you can slide the whole cylinder out...

hmm possibly, i'll have a fiddle with it tomorrow, then hit it with something inappropriate and call a locksmith and possibly a glazier, bloody thing!!
