Eurosec CP8L keypad - one button less responsive

Hi,

I have this keypad and one button has become less responsive (it still works but I have to press harder.)

I've read you can clean the contacts but removing the front will set off the tamper.

If I remove the front and the tamper goes off will I be able to put the code on still to silence it before setting to the cleaning?

I'm under maintenance contract so could call them out, but if a simple thing will try myself first.
