We are looking to flush mount a TV with power supply inside the wall.

Currently, we have a wall where we situate our 12 year old TV, which has recently ceased working:

So we would now like to replace it with a new flush mounted Samsung "The Frame".

This would require excavating a hole in the wall for the Samsung OneConnect box and running a power cable to it.

From peeking inside the existing loose coax box, the wall appears to be solid breezeblock:

Our question is, how should we excavate a circa 30cm x 15cm x 7cm section of this breezeblock wall?

I suspect you would weaken the wall too much, these blocks are only 100mm thick. removing 70% of that over a big area and your house might fall down, esp if you do that to the part of the wall in the picture.

Fair enough if it is an outside wall, insulation may take a fair bit of what you wish to excavate, but removing that much over that big of an area will cause problems

You have power already on wall , tv has a frame for mounting so it resembles a framed picture .?
So whats the reason for chasing a channel?
Samsungs are also WiFi enabled so cables redundant .

Do you know the structure of the room?
It looks like it could be a steel framed extension with glass and masonry infill?

even if the wall is holding up the house I'd have thought that inserting a bit of steel horizontally as a lintel (as in a fireplace) would suffice? (I'm not a structural engineer)

Don't forget that you may need provision for a set top box or something else

Studs and building out would be far easier and wouldn't look out of place, less mess, easy to redecorate
