Hi, excuse the novice post!

Something slightly unusual seems to have developed in our house pluming. Our downstairs toilet tank seems to be excessively filling up after a flush and for a while is running excess out of the overflow pipe after the valve seems to have shut.

We perhaps would never have noticed but for the toilet being flushed when someone was in the shower which appears to make it worse. When the shower is on and the toilet is flushed the toilet tank seems to keep filling up and overflowing for ages or until the shower is turned off.

This doesn't happen to the 2 upstairs toilets we have.

Possibly related to this we have a dripping tap in the kitchen that seems to drip a lot more when the shower is on.

Anyone have any ideas what might be causing this and whether its something to be concerned about?
