Do you have to turn any of the taps off at the back of the machine before taking the old one out?

Or you will get v wet, the pipes that are connected to the machine will have water in & be at presure.

no you could, not the OP, no offence to the OP but if they are asking such a basic question they cant be arseing about doing things live, if they let the hose go they will panic and flood the place, we just shake the excess water off our face and hold it tighter, haven't done it for a while but you get some buzz when you need to pipeslice a live main to cap it,
