Morning all

we’ve recently moved into a property with a porch on the front, unfortunately it looks like it had had movement over the years and pulled away from the main house, obviously whoever built it didn’t tie it into the property and the mortar between the house and porch had all cracked and fallen away, I do think that all movement has now stopped,
my question is:-
Is there a way to rescue it?
Can I/should I tie it in properly?
Any help appreciated as always
Thanks
Mark

You need to determine if the movement is continuing before you can determine the required repair.

Polyfiller and redecorate
Yes, I would do this and see if it cracks again.
You might need a couple of goes because surely that crack will reopen slightly after a few months.
If you want to investigate the issue, my first approach would be to check the fundations.
I have seen many porches built on concrete blocks laid on uncompacted earth.
For some "professional" builders that's perfectly acceptable.
