I squirted a load of this stuff round a window, all well and good until I realised that half of it had fallen on to my newly varnished pine floor (ronseal diamond clear), in a panic I tried to wipe it off only making things worse.

yes if I'd left it to set I could easily have pulled snapped it off, but now have a load of foam smudges!
nitro and revarnish affected area or is there another way?

You can shift wet expanding foam with nail polish remover (acetone), but once it's cured you'll need to use sandpaper I'm afraid. :(

yes, it will sand off when fully set, it is not very strong. If left in sunlight, it slowly degrades.

However, you can also get a product called Foam Eater which is sold in many places that sell expanding foam.

Test it first on your varnish, I don't know if it will try to eat that too.

as i feared, resand... :(
will use the acetone to clear the foam nozzle though, great tip :)

if you have not long sealed your floor you can mask off down the board joints and headers so that your not left with new varnish marks in middle of boards, but along edges. Sand problem area and re-apply finish coat
