Hi everyone,

I've got an 1850's house with three brick outhouses adjacent. Over these outhouses is a 1950's (ish) extension forming one of our bedrooms. The recent cold weather and the lack of insulation between the outhouses below and the bedroom above has resulted in some very cold nights.

Has anyone got any experience of injecting some kind of expanding, insulating foam into gaps like the one between the ceiling and floorboards? Can anyone recommend a company in the Tewkesbury / Gloucester area who could do it?

Thanks in advance!

I've seen damp and effloresce problems with injected foam, and you probably want to steer well clear of any urea formaldehyde foam as this can lead to terrible smells and allergic reactions. However Polyurethane foam does not have the same issues.

Blown fibre may be better, alternatively poly beads
