Managed to smear expanding foam all over new windows whilst attempting to fill a gap around the edge. Does anyone know of a way to remove this stuff from glass other than spending hours (or even days, weeks !!) removing it mechanically ?

It's easier to get off when it's dry than when it's wet.

A razorblade should then do the trick

Thanks Skattie. The foam has fully cured and scraping it off with a blade is certainly an option, though not one I'm looking forward to.

Searching the web, I came across a product called 'Foam Eater' which claims to remove cured foam from various surfaces but doesn't explicitly mention glass. Any one had experience of using it ?

Are you the berk in Berkshire  ...You can get a plastic holder for stanley knife blades...makes them safe to use  Sorry dunno about the foameater :(

The foam eater may work....but mind the rubber around the window.

Found some Foam Eater (not cheap - £12 for 250ml !!) but it did work and didn't damage the glass. I made sure that I masked around the window frame to protect the rubber etc.. so no damage done there. Of course, if I'd taken the trouble mask the glass in the first place, I wouldn't have needed the Foam Eater.

Acetone. Or nail polish remover.
