Over pressurised by how much ? Is it an integral EV on a combi ?

With the EV charged to 1.4 bar ,I assume then. Just reduce the charge pressure . In real terms it wouldn't have any dramatic effect on the boiler operation.
wouldnt mak a massive difference at 1.4 Bar if you made it about 3 bar it would
And... Did you charge it properly in the first place? i.e water side open to atmosphere, or at least depressurised.
