Expansion Vessel - Testing Pressure

Can a plumber who is not corgi qualified test the pressure in the expansion vessel of a combi and if necessary re-pressurize.

hi yes he can as long as he knows how its done the boiler must be isolated and drained down to zero pressure then a tyre pressure gauge will tell what if any pressure is in it most hold around 0.7bar you can pump it up with a bike pump if any water comes out when the shrieder valve is pressed then its capput and needs replacing and then that can be a different thing because on some boilers the gas valve has to be removed to gain acsess then it will need a corgi engineer
 
Is working on the expansion vessle not technically working on the boiler tho and the apprpriate FFD and burner pressure checked needing to be done after??
