Expensive wooden floor boards creak on concrete floor.

They were fitted by a qualified joiner, complete with required underlay, yet they creak virtually everywhere. It's a nightmare! Tried talcum powder to no avail. It's driving me mad. Please help!
 
width of expansion gaps? Thresholds placed in between doorways? door posts undercut to create expansion gaps? Gaps filled with cork?
 
solid wood? was the subfloor smooth? what underlay?


Solid wood (flatpacked) not laminate. Subfloor smooth. Don't recall the name of the underlay but the joiner recommended the stuff he used. Came in strips. Thanks for your help.
