Exposed brickwork in loft conversion

I have exposed brickwork in my loft conversion which serves as a pleasant feature. However the bricks are 125 years old (although they have been repointed) and produce a great deal of dust and grit all on their own.
Can anyone suggest a product that can be used indoors to prevent the bricks from degrading further?

Watered down PVA seems to be the most popular.
