Extend cable within Consumer Unit?

Red 2.5 mm cable within the Consumer Unit which has earth tape on it, this needs to go into the 16A breaker. The cable is not long enough to terminate into the MCB. This is an old immersion heater cable, which is now a dedicated supply for the alarm.

I will fit it we moved the order of the MCB's, however this is not ideal, as it should be where it is. We don't just want to throw a "choc-block" onto it....

Ideas?

We did think about moving the garage from the 32A RBCO onto the protected side, but this would just be crazy as it would mean the garage would be tripping the house.

Any suitable connector will be satisfactory.

I don't know about "throwing" a choc block on it, but a correctly rated and fitted choc block would be acceptable here, as it's inside an enclosure and accessible one at that. Wago series 773 or similar push fit connectors would be a nicer option though.
