Enclosing kitchen plan, which has a corner close to a pier (supporting RSJ).
How to deal with the mitre joint from the corner to the pier?
I've drawn in in red how I think it could be done in the simplest and most elegant way. But is that actually possible with a worktop mitre jig?

Yes, a 4m length would be used.
When I look at the drawing, I don't see how the normal mitre can be employed with the pier in that location. So the 45deg cut would have to go further up to meet the 90deg cut that meets the corner of the pier.

Would run length right thru , not cut as red line shows , breakfast bar then mitres into front edge only.

I think I would have to join two 3m lengths, not looking at wood, looking at laminates. Can a good fitter make a straight join with minimal visual effect?
