Extending a balanced flue - can it be done??

I have a Bosch balanced flue water/heating boiler fitted to an outside wall. I want to fit a 4 foot deep lean-to poly-carb rain-shelter to the said outside wall but the flue will then - technically - be covered by it. I understand that the fear is always that the flue will vent dangerous gasses into the covered volume and endanger someone thereby. So I want to extend the flue through the lean-to to avoid such a possibility but I can find no such extensions or any regulations that pertain to the exercise.

The lean-to will be supported by gallows-type brackets and otherwise be open to the air and the height of the flue is lower than the bottom of the lean-to and the end of the lean-to is similarly open to the air.

Is this a dodgy thing to do? If it is, are there reg.s that cover it? Am I just wasting my time??

Can anybody help, please?
