Extending a flex

I have purchased a new Electric fire suite and the flex is too short to reach sockets.

I was wondering how to extend the flex, and also is it possible to connect a second flex as well( this is a small strip light in suite too).

i dont really want to have 2 cables running across the room to the nearest sockets

you need one of these

and unfortuntely you will have to have 2 separate leads as one is a different current rating than the other, if a fault occurs it will be the the fuse may not blowbut the cable may catch fire

Wouldn't it be easier to connect the new longer flex inside the electric fire connection block

i would have to agree, but that means taking it apart (see how it works) which may invalidate the waranty (if any)
