I want to relocate a loft light from its current current position.
It currently has a live in, live out and switch cable positioned here.

Do I loop them into some sort of junction box here and then take the switch wire to the new location? Or should I be extending all 3 cables to the new location?

Aesthetics are not important in the loft. Should I use something like this with wago connectors or something else?

Thanks in advance

Either would be OK - it really comes down to 'convenience'.

That would do but, assuming it will remain 'accessible', any other sort of junction box would also be OK.

If you used something such as you suggest, with Wagos, you should make sure that the cable is clipped to something close to the box, so as to provide 'strain relief' (to prevent the cables being 'pulled out').

Kind Regards, John

In my case, I assume I can use these type of junction boxes without the glands?

Sure, but you'd presumably have to retain (i.e.'use', with small holes in them for the cables) the 'glands', otherwise there would be massive holes (which would not be acceptable).

Remember what I said about 'cable restraint'.

Kind Regards, John
